In a week when Twitter shares plummet, co-founder Evan Williams claim (as a keynote speaker at Bloomberg Businessweek’s annual design conference in San Francisco) that Twitter is “on a roll.” A statement that fits his role as co-founder and is defensible when you look at the new features. The company recently develop a new way to retweet, group messages and a new homepage. Yet Williams’s statement seems more like wishful thinking than an objective observation, both when you look at Twitter’s own annual figures and when you consider general internet trends.
We’re not all that convinc of Twitter after all
The setback for Twitter is unfortunate. Despite these advantages, we are apparently not being convinc as en masse as was once thought. When Twitter reports a new follower, half of the time it turns out to be an annoying and automatic follow account. Twitter is increasingly being us as a handy link account to other platforms, instead of the burkina faso business directory place where the real content can be found. Although the company plays its role in that capacity, it is not the role in which the full potential of the channel is us.
Twitter’s Evan Williams shifts his focus
